Pastel Vibe | Pale lilac T-shirt & White jeans

After Labor day, I feel like summer is over for many. However, it’s still pretty warm where I am. Everyone in my life (and online it seems!) loves Fall. I gotta admit, I am more of a Spring-Summer kinda girl than a Fall-Winter one. I wonder if it is because the heat reminds me of home. Where I am originally from — south of Vietnam, it is hot year round.

Pastels and white-beiges are my all time favorite colors, as you can probably tell from my previous posts. This year, summer especially, light purple/lilac/ lavender is the IT color. I’ve seen it all over. I am not complaining though — I love looking at it and there is so much availability in shopping.

The T shirt that I am wearing here is on sale! Not that it needed to be on sale — the original price of $10 was already very cheap!

I also love this quote!

For $10, I was surprised how comfortable this T-shirt is. It’s been holding up well through washes.

I’ve been wearing this pair of white jeans all summer. It is my almost perfect white jeans: high-waisted, not see-through, great stretch, minimal details, and available in petite lengths. I say ‘almost’ because I picked the wrong length. When I first tried it on, 30L (inseam 30′) seemed perfect. I have bought many pants, even work pants in this length before. But as you wear these Jamie jeans, they move around a bit. As you can see here, this is where the pants’ ankles ended up after 20 minutes. For reference, I am 5’4.

I prefer to have them a tiny bit longer, so I might repurchase the same pair in a longer length in the future.

I kept my jewelry minimal here, with dainty gold rings and necklace, as the outfit is already very fresh and bright.

How to style distressed T-shirts

Outside of work and occasions, I am a fan of casual, easy-to-wear styles — as seen by my many posts of casual outfits (example, here | here | here) on my blog and also by quick snaps of OOTD on my Instagram. However, I used to not be the biggest fan of distressed T-shirts.

Recently, I saw a T-shirt in one of my most favorite colors, pastel purple, or lavender/lilac on Forever 21. The color alone almost sold me. Because you are reading this post, this obviously means I went ahead and bought it. Besides the color, the price point was good enough to warrant a low risk purchase. Plus it would be a fun challenge to see if I can incorporate it into my wardrobe.

Red Ditsy Floral Print Top | Light Wash Jeans

I always find ditsy tops cute but somehow never really found one that works for my body frame. Either the floral pattern would be overwhelming, or the fit is awkward — they tend to not flow on me as effortlessly as I typically see on others. I was actually shopping for an outfit for a friend’s summer wedding when this gorgeous red top pulled my eyes in.
