I always find ditsy tops cute but somehow never really found one that works for my body frame. Either the floral pattern would be overwhelming, or the fit is awkward — they tend to not flow on me as effortlessly as I typically see on others. I was actually shopping for an outfit for a friend’s summer wedding when this gorgeous red top pulled my eyes in.
On my way to the dressing room, completely distracted from the main reason for my shopping, I was pretty sure that this try-on would be another big fail. Nonetheless, I could not resist it.
Top: H&M (still available here!)
Jeans: Primark (old, similar and very affordable here | on sale here | more pricey here | here)
Shoes: Old (similar here | grey here | cute light pink & yellow here | here )
Bag: Chloe Tess small in Motty Grey (pre-loved here | new with some discount here | here)
I decided to try both my regular size and one size up since my regular size looked a touch small from the hanger. One size up is perfect in this case!
Look at this top (still available here)! The varying floral sizes and prints, together with the cute faux looking wood buttons, surprisingly blends perfectly with the strong red color. I felt chirpy and summery in this :). I was thrilled that I could finally add one of these tops to my wardrobe, albeit I wasn’t looking.
Side note, I thought the long sleeve would be a bit hot but it was great to keep my arms away from the hot sun. The fabric actually feels light and quite airy.
When I went to New York for the wedding during the weekend, I decided to squeeze in a visit to one of my favorite spots in New York City — the MET museum. I could spend an entire week here! I threw on some light jeans and a pair of mules to scroll around the museum and the city.
These jeans are not hard to find but some washes are quite pale or yellow tinted for my liking. I find this here for an amazing price of $10. I actually own one of these jeans in a different color, and like them just as much as my more expensive jeans.
I love mules for the summer! They are easy to throw on and make you look more put together. I particularly like the ones with wide strap like this pair I got from Vietnam when I visited. It makes walking more comfortable.
Since I got them from Vietnam, I tried to find some similar ones here. My other picks come from an array of spring summer colors like this grey here, or these light pink & yellow ones here. I’ve heard a bit about this brand here lately.
Out of all Chloe’s designs, Tess is actually my favorite. It comes with a removable wide long strap so you can definitely wear it crossbody. It is a perfect little bag to sling around.
The museum, as usual, was amazing and the different exhibits were beautiful. I was especially loving the Chinese Garden — it was peaceful in a different world.
This was a random shot of me trying to spot my Uber in that bright light. The breeze was nice under that glazing sun though! Until next time NYC.
